Spring is The Dawn

Spring is the dawn of summer.

It blooms and grows

As it comes to life.

Awaking from its long winter slumber.

Spring is hope returning to a broken heart,

That has frozen and died

As it lost its way in the night.

But we did not know

That the son would come.

Spring is the Savior rising like the dawn,

Calling his children to life.

As he breaks our chains,

We awake from winter’s pain.

I wrote this poem in English class on the last day of school before spring break. I have been thinking about how spring is coming and all the flowers and tree blossoms are blooming and coming to life. The animals are awaking from there winter hibernation and, just like the spring, Jesus is bringing new life. He is awakening and mending broken hearts.

“Jesus told her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.’”
